Music Hack Day is a time for developers, designers, programers, industry insiders and musicians to come together to create new and unique music applications. The weekend will begin with participating organizations presenting relevant music technology that may be of interest to hackers, followed by more in-depth workshops, where organizations can show attendees how to use their technology and answer any questions. Once the workshops have completed, the clock starts; hackers will have until Sunday afternoon to make their idea real. Late Sunday afternoon, hackers will be given the opportunity to present their hacks to the overall group.

The theme this year is RESOLUTION. Participants are encouraged to post projects to hackathon.io ahead of time — especially if you want to recruit others to help. And even if you're not coming to the event, we'd love to hear your project ideas. Here are some of the proto-ideas we have so far: Compute likely spatial and temporal resolution from some basic acquisition info: source, design, etc. Do the same but from information from the stack: trace spacing, apparent bandwidth, etc. Find and connect literature about seismic and log resolution using online bibliographic data. What does the seismic spectrum look like, given STFT limitations, or Gabor uncertainty?

A Science Hack Day is a hackathon for science. It is a forum that brings scientists, developers, designers, engineers, and enthusiastic people from all backgrounds together in the same physical space for one intense weekend to get inspired, get creative and make something cool, with science. For three days we provide a completely open space where creativity and inter-disciplinarity can flow. Achieving this means removing all barriers to community participation. As such, the event is free of charge for all attendees, we provide space and access to equipment and materials needed for rapid prototyping, and we provide food and shelter for our valiant science hackers to keep them hacking through the night. All of this is made possible through sponsorship. Science Hack Day is organised by volunteers and wouldn’t be possible without our sponsors. If you are interested to support us, keep reading!
